The Pre-Kindergarten
Our prekindergarten is our entrance level to our formal elementary education program. All students enrolled in prekindergarten program should be 4 years of age by the first day of school. It is a half day program that focuses on the education of the whole child by focusing on language development, basic number skills, PYP units of inquiry, experiential learning, engaging activities and play that foster an excitement for learning. Language development lessons focus mainly on letter recognition, listening and speaking. As an introduction to a formal school setting, students will learn daily routines and procedures that will ease the transition into kindergarten, while learning about them and their world around them. Prekindergarten is assessed for learning just as the other elementary grades.
